Determined to Deliver

Restroom Trailers Keeping Union Station on Track

If you’ve recently navigated through the hustle and bustle of Chicago’s iconic Union Station, you may have noticed the array of orange tape, buzzing of circular saws, or the slamming of hammers. This is all part of a $418 million dollar master plan to reduce station congestion, jazz up the boarding areas, and expand restroom capacity.

FHP Delivers Without Disruptions

At the heart of this remarkable work stands FH Paschen, a commercial contracting firm here in Chicago. They are known for their expertise in executing massive transit construction projects, while also maintaining station operations without disruptions.

As the renovation of the station bathrooms began earlier this summer, they needed a union partner who could deliver portable restroom facilities, while also handling the relentless demand for pumping and cleaning each day.

Upon receiving the call, we swiftly deployed a fleet of luxury restroom trailers, perfectly sized for the underground terminal at Union Station. These facilities were maintained twice daily, seven days a week, ensuring seamless, uninterrupted service.

When you’re working on a project of this caliber, there’s little room for hiccups. We had to plan strategically to pull it off with our trailer and operation teams, but that’s exactly the type of work we’re set up to accommodate. Our drivers and operations folk are some of the best in the biz and their determined mindset is really what helps us pull stuff like this off.”

Rolling out Reliability

Once this project wraps up, our trailers will be quickly rolled out, allowing regular station operations to get back on track. This can give the crews at FH Paschen peace of mind, so they can zero in on making the concourse more accessible leaving a lasting mark on station-goers for years to come. The timing couldn’t be better with the rail station gearing up to celebrate Union Station’s 100th anniversary in 2025!
