Service Sanitation Responds to COVID-19 Crisis
In an effort to flatten the curve, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker extended the statewide Stay at Home order through the month of May. While the modified order keeps most businesses and storefronts closed to the public, community members in the Chicago Loop facing homelessness are finding it more difficult to gain access to safe and sanitary restroom facilities.
Valuing community and connection, Service Sanitation partnered up with the Chicago Loop Alliance, the organization that requested sanitary solution services.
In response to the crisis, Service Sanitation will be providing portable restrooms that include hand sanitizer throughout the month of May, if not longer. Chicago Loop Alliance CEO Michael Edwards stated, “One thing we can do right now is provide public restrooms. It’s simple, but we think it’s impactful.”
